Welcome to Russells Hall Primary School Dear Parents, Carers, Children and Families, It is a real privilege to welcome you to Russells Hall Primary School – a school where people matter, relationships matter and every child matters. At Russells Hall, we want every child to feel happy, safe, valued and proud to belong to our school community. Childhood is precious, and primary school should be a time filled with learning, friendship, opportunity, curiosity and memories that last long after children have left us. Our ambition is simple: we want every child to succeed, to thrive and to know that they belong. We believe that every child is unique. Children come to us with different strengths, experiences, interests and needs, and it is our responsibility to recognise these and help each child become the very best version of themselves. We want our children to achieve academically, but education is about so much more than results. It is about developing confidence, resilience, kindness, independence and a belief that they can make a positive difference to the world around them. This means creating a school where children and adults learn together; where expectations are high but support is always there; and where children know there are trusted adults who will listen to them, advocate for them and help them when things feel difficult. Belonging is at the heart of this. Children learn best when they feel that they belong. We want every child who walks through our doors to know: this is my school, I am known here, I am valued here and there is a place for me here. Our school community is incredibly important to us. A school is much more than a building or a collection of classrooms. It is the children, families, staff, governors and wider community who make it what it is. When those people work together, children benefit. That is why our relationship with families matters so much. Parents and carers know their children better than anyone, and we believe that a strong, trusting and respectful partnership between home and school gives children the strongest possible foundation. We want you to feel welcome, to talk to us, to ask questions, to celebrate with us and, when something is worrying you, to know that we will listen. There will be many opportunities for you to be part of school life, whether through celebrations, events, learning opportunities or simply the everyday conversations that help us understand and support your child. We also want our children to understand that they are part of something bigger than themselves. They are members of their class, their school, the Russells Hall community and the wider world. Through the experiences we provide, we want them to develop compassion, respect and an understanding of the contribution they can make to the lives of others. Russells Hall is continuing to grow and develop, and there are exciting times ahead. Throughout that journey, our children and our community will remain at the centre of every decision we make.
